Tetratec Comfort Hydrometer

Tetratec Comfort Hydrometer
Tetratec Comfort Hydrometer : Measures Salinity & Specific Gravity

Extremely accurate and easy to use swing needle hydrometer.

Provides temperature corrected readings in water that is in the temperature range of 20-29 deg C

Ensure there are no air bubbles attached to the swing arm needle before taking the reading, and wash out with fresh clean water after use

Reads :

Salinity (ppt) 0 - 40

S.G. 1.000 - 1.032

Marine fish and corals require stable water conditions, which makes regular checking of salinity important. It’s also necessary to check salinity when making up new water for water changes.

The TetraTec Hydrometer makes it simple to accurately check the salt content of water, giving precise readings over a wide temperature range (20 – 29°C). It works by measuring the specific gravity (relative density) of the water, and converting this to salinity.

All you need to do is fill up the hydrometer with water, and read the value off the scale printed on the side.

Red Sea Hydrometer with Digital Thermometer

Red Sea Hydrometer with Digital Thermometer
NEW from Red Sea

Hydrometer with digital thermometer for Continuous or Periodic reading of Specific Gravity in saltwater aquariums

Hydrometer : floating needle type with readable scale from 1.010 to 1.030 in 0.001 graduations.

Unit is calibrated for use at 25 deg C (77 deg F)

All swing-arm plastic hydrometers for aquarium use are only accurate when used within the normal range of operating temperatures for marine aquariums (approx 25 deg C / 77 deg F). Red Sea's hydrometer is supplied with a digital thermometer to ensure that the water being tested is at the correct temperature

Dimensions : 13cms by 9 cms

Continuous Measurement

Can be fixed permanently inside the aquarium for continous reading

In addition to being used as a regular hydrometer for periodic S.G. measurements, the unique, patented design enables the hydrometer to be installed permanently inside the aquarium or sump giving a continuous "real-time" reading of S.G.

Complete with removeable plug and suction cup to allow hydrometer to be fixed to inside of aquarium or sump. The top of the hydrometer should be positioned at least 15cm / 6" below the water surface for correct operation

Aqua Vital Swing Needle Hydrometer

Aqua Vital Swing Needle Hydrometer
Easy Dip and Read Hydrometer

Swing Needle

Measures :

Salinity (ppt) 0 - 40 ppt (at 25 deg C)
Specific Gravity 1.000 - 1.030 (with optimum marine tropical range 1.020-1.023 highlighted) (at 25 deg C)

Rinse with fresh water after use as dried salt on swing needle may effect subsequent readings

Instant Ocean Hydrometer

Instant Ocean Hydrometer
This item now replaces the original SeaTest Specific Gravity Meter which is no longer available

Instant Ocean Hydrometer's new improved design delivers precise full-range salinity and specific gravity readings - accurate to 0.001 - every time.

Easy-fill convenience keeps hands dry when filling.

It has a durable, permanent needle mount and easy-read 2-color scale with "safe zone" and an extra-wide stabilizer base.

Ideal for use in water temperatures of 68 - 85 degrees F.

Just scoop in the water to be tested, and read off the scale once the floating needle has settled.

Waterlife SeaDrometer

Waterlife SeaDrometer
For the measurement of seawater salinity

The measure of salinity (saltiness) levels in water is Specific Gravity (S.G.).

The SeaDrometer is a scientific instrument used to measure the correct salinity level for the type of marine creatures in your set-up.

The fishes' indigenous region dictates the level of salinity they will tolerate. e.g.

REGION S.G. Range Tolerated
Indo Pacific = 1.018 to 1.022
Caribbean = 1.020 to 1.025
Red Sea = 1.028 to 1.034

If the S.G. reading is too low, add Waterlife Ultramarine sea-salt to increase the S.G.
If the S.G. is too high for the species being kept, add fresh-water.
N.B. Always effect changes to S.G. of your system gradually so as not to cause shock to your fishes.

Uses:

  • Easy to use method of measuring the S.G. of your marine system
  • The SeaDrometer has a good range (1.010 to 1.030)
  • It is an accurate measure of salinity (accuracy 0.002)
Includes float tube and protective carry case for hydrometer.
