The new IP350 Skimmer from OASE provides for clean surface water. It is particularly suitable for connecting to the Aquamax pump series in combination with a BIOsys-System. It compensates for differences in depth of up to 16 cm.

Delivery includes special stepped hose tail for the Skimmer and an additional special stepped hose tail with a 1 ½" union nut for connecting to the pump. The Skimmer from OASE skims suspended matter from the surface of the garden pond powerfully and effectively.

Dust, leaves and other soiling add too many nutrients to the pond water causing excessive algae growth and cloudy water. A Skimmer in the garden pond removes debris floating at the surface, preventing it from clouding the water.

The OASE Skimmer features a fixed foot which is designed to hold pebbles, allowing it to be naturally integrated into the garden pond. This also ensures that it is firmly anchored and can operate successfully in garden ponds where the water level varies (up to 16 cm automatic adjustment)

Springflo (UK patent 2248231) is a unique and highly versatile biofilter medium. It has taken years to develop the brand new surface texture, designed to increase the surface available for settling friendly microbes and suspended solids.

Springflo provides a surface on which purifying bacteria will readily grow. The nitrifying bacteria detoxify the water by converting the harmful ammonia produced by fish into relatively harmless nitrate. Other bacteria digest organic waste that enters the filter.

Springflo is a thin plastic ribbon made from a special blend of polypropylene and calcium carbonate. Our trials show that bacteria grow on this media very quickly (unlike some plastic materials). This shortens the time for the system or pond to become “mature”.

To maximise the surface area available for bacteria to grow on, the surface is embossed with specially designed micro-valleys and ridges. These provide shelter and anchorage for the biofilm, whilst allowing the easy shedding of debris when cleaning

Plus, the special surface texture nearly doubles the surface area for bacteria to grow on. more bacteria = greater purification capacity.

The surface texture causes drag as water flows over it, helping bacteria and fine particles to settle on it. Because this surface is all ‘external’ (rather than part of an internal structure) Springflo is easy to keep clean— just jiggle ‘n’ flush.

The open structure of the random coils means that new Springflo is virtually clog-free, and can be retro-fitted to most filters. new Springflo is also great for fine particle settlement - try testing against brushes for effectiveness and ease of cleaning.
