The aquarium is an artificial habitat for tropical fish and plants. Even the largest aquarium is just a small water puddle in comparison with the natural biotope. Without appropriate regulation the chemical and physical conditions in it will very quickly go from one extreme to another Thus fish and plant life in the aquarium is not possible without corresponding control by the aquarium operator.

Building upon the decades of experience of Horst E. Kipper and Kaspar Horst, Dupla today offers a wide range of aquarium systems that provide optimum conditions for fish and plants, partially even better than in nature.

The basis was formed by countless biotope investigations in the native countries of aquarium fish and plants, and the findings gained have been transformed into practical aquarium terms by means of numerous tests and extensive development work. Horst E. Kipper and Kaspar Horst have documented this work in their books, publications and magazine articles.

CO2 supply provided by the 1 litre reaction chamber which is situated outside of the aquarium. CO2 distribution within the tank is carried out by the power head which is provided in the kit. CO2 production from the natural ingredients last approx 30 days

This small CO2 test indicator fits inside the tank with part of it under the water. The reagent within the test reacts with the water to give a colour change within the tester which indicates the level of carbon dioxide within the tank water

Permanent test should be refilled at least once a month

1 drop sufficient for daily fertilisation of 50 litres of aquarium water.

If aquarium plants are to grow and thrive, they need, besides water and light, a certain selection of nutrients. Since the aquarium is an artificial biotope, these nutrients are, however, not available indefinitely. The nutrients must be introduced into the biosystem from the outside.

Dupla Root is the ideal nutrient deposit for all aquarium plants and should be added to the aquarium gravel

Dupla Ground is a lime-free, water-neutral substrate.

It ideally supports plants and has a highly decorative effect.

Its grain size of 2-4 mm aids circulation in the aquarium bed, while its round form is ideally suited for ground dwellers such as catfish and loaches.
