Gravel Tidy in Freshwater
Aquaria
-
Gravel Tidy is the perfect method of separating
a top layer of sand or gravel from a sub-bed of peat or planting
medium, allowing easy access into the gravel for planting
or decoration, or for burrowing fish, without the usual explosion
of peat fouling the aquarium water.
-
Gravel Tidy is ideal for use with coloured
gravels, separating the upper coloured layers above from the
plain gravel below.
-
Gravel Tidy may also be used in the middle
of ordinary gravel, preventing large Cichlids etc. from laying
bare the aquarium bottom or the under gravel filter.

Gravel Tidy in Marine
Aquaria
-
Gravel tidy is the ideal answer to the problem
of sinking coral sand. It will keep the coarser gravels in
their place at the bottom of the aquarium, and allow disturbances
of coral sand either by human hand or marine animals, without
intermixing layers, which destroy the appearance of the aquarium,
as well as reducing the efficiency of the biological bed.
-
Gravel Tidy makes stripping out a marine aquarium
far less time consuming, as the separate gravels remain apart.
-
Gravel Tidy, with its unique design, is impervious
to saltwater and will not rot or curl in use. Its perforations
are large enough so as not to be blocked by sand, ensuring
a free flow of water.

Instructions for Use
-
First check that
the Gravel Tidy fits correctly. Due to the differing internal
measurements of aquaria, it may be necessary to trim with
a pair of scissors for an exact fit.
-
Lay Gravel Tidy over
the undergravel filter, if used, and cut out holes for the
up-lift tubes.
-
Remove Gravel Tidy
and install base layer of gravel, ensuring that this lies
flat.
-
Lay the Gravel
Tidy over the base layer, ensuring the edges curve downwards.
- Put in the top layer of gravel, pouring
onto a large plate to prvent undue disturbance of gravel.
