Arcadia I bar Twin Light Unit
Instructions For Use

Lamp Installation

Your Luminaire is not supplied with lamps; however we recommend that the relevant wattage and colour Arcadia Lamps are used.  Please ensure that the correct wattage lamp is used.

When installing make sure that there is a "Drip Loop". This is where the cable loops down from the mains plug and then goes up to the unit. This stops condensation from entering the plug and shorting out the electrical supply.

Remove the Luminaire from over the tank before installing the lamps.

To install the lamps, slide the sealing rings onto the lamp holder, rotating through 90° where necessary (on some T8 versions only). Screw the sealing rings onto the lamp holders until there is no gap between the sealing ring and the lamp holder.

Loosen the grub screws on each sliding mechanism. Pull the slides out of the unit until they are at their furthest extent.  Rest the Luminaire on the lip of the aquarium wall.  Carefully reduce the length of the sides until the Luminaire sits snuggly on the aquarium wall. Tighten up the grub screws on each sliding mechanism.

Make sure the Luminaire will sit no closer than 15mm to the maximum possible water level. The Luminaire should never be closer to the water than 15mm.

To fit the side rubber strips, insert the strip into the upper slot at one end, work along the Luminaire inserting the strip gradually. Trim off excess if necessary, repeat for the other side.

Do not allow the unit to become submersed in water.

To mount the Luminaire inside an aquarium hood, insert the mounting plugs into the holes in each end side. Attach the mounting spacers and measure the required length to the drill the holes before drilling into your hood. Use suitable fastenings to ensure that the Luminaire is securely fixed to the hood and cannot fall into the water.

Do not place more than 2kg on top of the Luminaire.

Physical Installation

Select a suitable site close to your electricity supply.

The Luminaire is only suitable for indoor use, and must only be placed inside an aquarium or vivarium.

The Luminaire should be kept dry, ventilated and away from other heat sources.

Make sure the light from the Luminaire is solely aimed into the aquarium or Vivarium. An Arcadia Reflector should be used to limit light spill.  Do not allow the light to spill out, as viewing of some lamps directly could be harmful to the human eye if viewed for more than a few minutes.

WARNING - Before operation, you must ensure that the Luminaire is either securely fastened to your aquarium hood, of that the slides are fixed so that the Luminaire is stable on top of the tank and cannot fall in.

Electrical installation

This unit must be protected by a suitable fuse. Before installing, ensure that the rated voltage and frequency of the Luminaire match that of your power supply, and that the mains lead plug is fully compatible with your mains sockets. If in doubt, please return the unit to the point of purchase to verify.
