Kent Marine Liquid Reactor 16oz

Ionically Balanced One-Step

Calcium Buffer System

for Marine Reef Aquariums

Liquid Reactor is a complete calcium buffer system designed to give the same results as costly calcium reactor systems without investing in a reactor, CO2 tank, solenoid, and pH controller; also, there is no risk of overdosing CO2 and causing subsequent problems with algae and/or pH.

This product will raise the concentrations of calcium, magnesium, strontium, and carbonates (alkalinity) in the system, and is chloride, phosphate, nitrate, and gluconate free!

Each 16 oz. of Liquid Reactor will treat 5,000 gallons or 18,900 liters and contains 126,000 ppm of calcium and 193,000 ppm carbonates.

Directions: Shake vigorously for 5-10 seconds immediately before each use! Add 5-10 ml  (Cap on 16 oz. bottle equals 5 ml, Cap on 64 oz. and gallon equals 10 ml) per 55 gallons (200 L) aquarium capacity directly to an area of high water flow each day until target calcium level and alkalinity are reached. This product is intended to cloud the aquarium and any cloudiness observed (due to its highly-concentrated formula) will dissipate within an hour or so.  It is strongly recommended that Liquid Reactor be added to the system at night, in order to counter the natural tendency for pH to decrease during this time, and to allow time for the aquarium to clear. Each 1 ml of Liquid Reactor per gallon of purified water will increase the concentration of calcium by 33 ppm and carbonates by 51 ppm.

Kent Ammonia DetoxKent Ammonia Detox

Kent Ammonia Detox is the premier product for ammonia removal for tap or aquarium water! It is much stronger than competing products and is safer too. Some competing products contain toxic formaldehyde. Formaldehyde is more toxic than ammonia, and if too much is used, the results can be disastrous. Ammonia Detox is safe, even when overdosed! It neutralizes ammonia, chlorine and chloramine, instantly preparing tap water for immediate addition to the aquarium. Unlike some similar products, Ammonia Detox is even safe for sensitive hard and soft corals, anemones and other invertebrates, as well as freshwater and marine fish and plants. Use when preparing tap water for new aquariums, making water changes, or adding water to make up for evaporation. Ammonia Detox is safe to use directly in all freshwater and marine aquariums, including coral mini-reefs and also water gardens to neutralize toxic ammonia, as well. If the bacteria bed of an aquarium is accidentally killed by overuse of antibiotics, or other factors, Ammonia Detox will bind toxic ammonia, providing time to relocate the fish and invertebrates or to obtain other filtration media. In cases where too many fish are added too quickly, Ammonia Detox will bind ammonia until the existing bacteria multiply sufficiently to handle the ammonia. Ammonia Detox is also valuable for binding nitrites in fry rearing systems, where filtration cannot be used.

Kent Marine Pro Buffer
pH Buffer, coralline algae growth accelerator, and alkalinity or carbonate hardness (KH) builder

Marine Liquid Buffer

ENHANCED PROFESSIONAL BUFFERING SYSTEM FOR ALL MARINE AQUARIUMS with Coralline Accelerator

Description: Enhanced Pro•Buffer dKH with Coralline Accelerator raises alkalinity or buffering capacity and works automatically to control pH in any marine aquarium.  In addition, when used with any of our calcium additives, it encourages strong coralline algae growth.  Each 16 oz. of Pro•Buffer dKH will treat 1,900 gallons or 7,200 litres.

Directions: Important: Read use & interaction below!  Add 10 ml per 40 gallons aquarium capacity each day, in a high flow area of the aquarium, until target alkalinity is reached.  Use along with any good calcium supplement to stabilize alkalinity in a reef type marine aquarium.  Add in the morning to prevent overshoot of pH. (Cap on 16 oz. bottle equals 5 ml, Cap on 64 oz. and gallon equals 10 ml) Never mix with a calcium or magnesium solution, add to tank separately.  Some cloudiness may be observed.  This should go away rapidly.

Considerations for use: A pH of 8.0 to 8.3 and an alkalinity of 2.9 to 4.0 meq/L (8 to 11 dKH) is recommended for reef type aquariums (fish only marine aquariums should maintain 3.5 to 5.5 meq/L or 10 to 14 dKH) and  calcium level should be maintained between 400 and 450 ppm, using Kent Turbo•Calcium, Concentrated Liquid Calcium, or Kalkwasser Mix.  Test calcium & alkalinity and adjust the recommended dose for your particular system!  Do not exceed 1/2 ml of this product per gallon per 12 hour period.  Daily addition of calcium along with this product will yield optimum results, particularly when trying to accelerate coralline algae growth!  If you have trouble maintaining calcium or buffer level, check to see that the salt mix you are using has seawater level of magnesium.  To save money and increase dissolvability, some manufacturers of popular newer salts have included only half the level of magnesium necessary in their sea salt mixes, resulting in low calcium solubility and poor buffering!  If magnesium is low, use Kent Tech•M Magnesium.

Regular water changes are recommended.  Kent Marine Essential Elements and Coral-Vite should be used simultaneously with the calcium supplement you are using and the Pro•Buffer dKH to replace those minerals lost in protein skimming and filtration and used up by corals and other invertebrates.  Tanks with heavy coral populations require additional strontium to that which is in the Coral-Vite. Use Strontium & Molybdenum Supplement or Turbo•Strontium  for this.  Tech•I is our new timed release iodine supplement. You will notice increased size, growth and general health of soft corals with its use.  Macro algae will require the Iron supplement,  as well.  Live corals require strong lighting of proper spectrum and immaculately clean systems.

Ingredients: deionized water containing carbonate, bicarbonate, sulfate and borate salts with trace minerals.

Kent Marine Tectra-I Iodine
Long Acting Iodine Supplement

Marine Water Conditioner

Description: Kent Marine Tech•I is the most significant breakthrough in marine additive technology in the last five years! Although present in salt mixes, iodine is rapidly used up in the system, and removed through protein skimming, ozone and filtration. Whereas other iodine supplements only last a few days, Tech•I Iodine supplement provides iodine in a unique triple release system for sustained availability to invertebrates over weeks of time • Provides free iodine, iodide and timed release iodide • Hobbyists report reproduction in corals that have not previously reproduced and increased growth rates in sensitive hard and soft corals. • Keeping Xenia is much easier • Corals open fuller and grow faster than ever before!• Assists hard corals and helps prevent bleaching! Kent Marine Tech•I is an exciting product! It will revolutionize the keeping of difficult marine invertebrates!

Directions: Add two teaspoons (2 capfuls or 10 ml) per 50 gallons tank capacity every week for three weeks. Reduce to half dosage in the 4th and subsequent weeks, unless you can test the level. Add directly to the system in an area of good water movement. Do not mix with other supplements outside the aquarium. Do not use with Poly Ox, other oxidizers, or ozone!

Considerations for use: Tech•I provides free iodine and iodide immediately, and a timed release system which continues to provide available iodide over many weeks. Test kits will not read the timed release iodide, and may not register the free iodine. Do not exceed the recommended dosage without testing, and do not exceed seawater level of either iodine or iodide if measuring with a kit. Carefully observe animals while using. If negative reactions are noted, discontinue use, and resume a week later at half dose. (Actually iodine/iodide testing is unnecessary, just dose as directed)

If you plan to use Tech•I Iodine supplement while ozone is in use, be careful. The ozone can release all of the iodine in Tech•I at once, so carefully observe your animals on a daily basis, and discontinue use, if necessary. Tech•I is designed for use by experienced hobbyists, who are able to judge negative reactions by inhabitants. If you are inexperienced or use ozone, and you want to be totally safe, use Concentrated Iodine Supplement instead of this product!

Kent Marine Essential Elements and Coral-Vite should be used simultaneously with the Tech I to replace those minerals lost in protein skimming and filtration and used up by corals and other invertebrates. Calcium should be added via Kalkwasser Mix, Concentrated Liquid Calcium or Turbo Calcium. Tanks with heavy coral populations require additional strontium to that which is in the Coral-Vite. Use Strontium & Molybdenum Supplement or Turbo Strontium for this. Macro algae will require the Iron supplement, as well. Live corals require strong lighting of proper spectrum and immaculately clean systems. Regular water changes are encouraged. Use Kent Marine Superbuffer-dKH to control alkalinity and prevent pH swings.

Contents: Deionized water, timed release proprietary concentrated iodide, iodine, potassium iodide, stabilizers.

Precautions: Not for human consumption. For Aquarium/Ornamental fish use only! Not for fish used for human consumption. Keep out of reach of children!

Kent Marine Coral-AccelKent Marine Coral-Accel
Coral Growth Stimulator

Marine Supplement

Description: Kent Coral Accel is a Hard & Soft Coral Growth Stimulator • It provides complex proteins which provide a natural source of necessary amino acids that spur coral tissue growth    Contains rich marine lipids    Particularly designed for use when fragmenting small polyped stony corals and propagating soft corals, octocorals, and colonial anemones.

Considerations for use: For coral propagation, Coral Accel should be used daily.  It is a clean product, however, water quality should always be monitored.  You must judge overfeeding by the condition of your aquarium.  Kent Phytoplex marine phytoplankton is a good choice to feed daily along with the Coral Accel.  Feed Micro•Vert once weekly in lieu of Coral Accel.    Continue your normal regimen of Kent Kalkwasser, Tech•CB and Coral-Vite.  Kent Marine Essential Elements should be used simultaneously to replace those minerals lost to protein skimming and carbon or resin filtration.  Tech•I Iodine will provide excellent results.  Live corals require strong lighting, with proper spectrum and strong water movement, in a well seasoned aquarium.  Do not attempt to propagate corals in an aquarium that is less than a year old.  Regular water changes with Kent® Sea Salt are encouraged.  Use Kent Marine Superbuffer-dKH or new Pro•Buffer dKH to control alkalinity,  prevent pH swings, and encourage deposition of new coral structure.

Active Ingredients: hydrolyzed marine protein, marine lipids, potassium iodide, ascorbic acid,  vitamin A propionate, vitamin A palmitate, sodium EDTA, tocopherol.

Precautions: Not for human consumption. Keep out of reach of children!

Kent Coral-Vite

Description: Kent Coral-Vite is the premium hard & soft coral vitamin & mineral supplement. It provides exotic trace minerals and complex nutrients for health and vigor and to stimulate growth in corals, anemones, gorgonians, and desirable marine algae. It contains no detrimental heavy metals, gluconates or other sugars, phosphates, nitrates, or silicates. Coral-Vite does not promote undesirable algae growth. Our goal is to provide SLR or Sustained Long-term Results. To this end, Coral-Vite makes the lightest possible use of EDTA and preservatives. These ingredients are necessary, however, to make sure you get a fresh, potent product.

Kent Coral-Vite

Kent Zoe Marine VitaminsKent Zoe Marine Vitamins
Description: Kent Zoe is a superior vitamin complex for Marine Fish, Invertebrates, and desirable algae. (Zoe does not contain phosphates as most competing vitamin supplements do, and will not cause unsightly algae growth!) It contains aquaculture grade vitamins, meaning that they are still active after one year in your aquarium! It is unique because it also contains natural minerals from spirulina and kelp sources. Competing products are preserved with glycerin, which is an alcohol and requires 50% concentration to preserve. Zoe is properly preserved, using less than ½% preservatives, yet has a 4 year shelf life with no refrigeration. Just smell the difference!

Directions: For wonderful results, sprinkle over or soak fish food in Zoe, as appropriate. Brine shrimp are particularly good at absorbing the Zoe overnight in the refrigerator. Add one teaspoon (capful) per 50 gallons tank capacity, directly to the aquarium, up to twice weekly to benefit invertebrates and algae. For caulerpa and calcareous algae success, also use Kent Super Iron Supplement with Manganese.

Kent Poly-Ox Red Slime RemoverKent Poly-Ox Red Slime Remover

Organic Material Oxidizer

  • Instantly begins to oxidize dissolved and suspended organic matter
  • For Freshwater or Marine Systems
  • Professional strength
  • Phosphate & Nitrate Free!

Description: Poly Ox is an organic material oxidizer. It does not contain any algaecide. It assists in preventing growth of various cyanobacteria (commonly called red or blue-green slime algae) by simply removing their food source. It will oxidize leftover food, and dissolved and suspended organic matter. This will increase the water quality and provide a better environment for your fish and invertebrates!

Directions: First Read Considerations for use below! Freshwater: Add one dose only at 1 teaspoon (1 capful or 5 ml) to 4 teaspoons per 10 gallons (40 liters) of system capacity depending on bio-load. Can be repeated at 7 day intervals. Marine: (reefs and fish-only systems): Add one dose in the morning and one dose in the evening of 3 drops (use an eye dropper) per 10 gallons (40 liters) of system capacity for up to 10 days [this is equivalent to 1/4 teaspoon (1/4 capful or 1.25 ml) in a 60 gallon tank, twice a day]. Carefully observe inhabitants each time. If invertebrates close up at all, then half the dosage and use longer if necessary. DO NOT EVER OVERDOSE! Product can be squirted, slowly, on affected areas using a plastic syringe, and this is sometimes faster and more effective. This method also doses the entire tank, as well. Do not use again until time to dose again and do not exceed the above recommended dosages overall

Kent Nitrate Sponge
  NITRATE SPONGE

GRANULAR NITRATE ABSORBER

Description: Kent Marine Nitrate Sponge is a granular zeolitic medium which works by two methods.

 1) It slowly directly absorbs small amounts of ammonia that are released by fish and natural processes
 2) It fosters anaerobic bacterial denitrification due to its physical porous structure.
This denitrification slowly reduces nitrate levels in marine aquariums.

It works well in freshwater tanks or tap water to remove toxic ammonia directly!

Nitrate Sponge prolongs the time allowed between water changes by keeping nitrates low!

Available in :

2 qt (1.9 Litre)(1500 gms) : Treats 50 galls (200 litres)

1 gal (3.8 litres)(3 kg) : Treats 100 galls (400 litres)

Kent Nitrate Sponge

Kent Phosphate SpongeKent Phosphate Sponge
Phosphate & Silicate Adsorber

Kent Marine Phosphate Sponge is a ceramic medium which will adsorb phosphates quickly (within hours) when placed directly in the water flow. Works in fresh and saltwater aquariums or ponds to bring about 1.0 ppm of phosphate or silicates down to less than .05 ppm in a 120 gallon tank for every dry quart of medium. For silicate to be removed, phosphates must first be removed. Beads are cracked to expose more surface area and increase efficiency! This product will not release soluble aluminum compounds into your aquarium, causing negative reactions from your inverts, as competing products may. Will also absorb moisture for use as an air dryer for ozone, and can be renewed over and over in moisture removal service!

Directions: Rinse with fresh water (preferably reverse osmosis or deionized water) WARNING: PRODUCT MAY GET VERY HOT THE FIRST TIME IT IS WET! Use rubber gloves and/or place in a plastic container while rinsing! Place in a large mesh bag (800 micron) or a canister filter, directly in the water flow. Make sure water flows through the material and not just around it. Leave for 8 hours to 2 days maximum (as with any phosphate adsorber, phosphates can be re-released into the system if initial charge is left in the system continuously. If you want to leave in the system to keep phosphates low or to remove silicates, replace initial charge with brand new, and change on a regular basis.) For silicate removal, phosphate must first be removed, then a new charge of Phosphate Sponge must be left in the system for several days.

Considerations for use: Many municipal water companies add phosphates to the tap water to assist in controlling lead consumption by humans. Sodium Silicate (water glass) is also added to help reduce pipe corrosion. Phosphates and silicates also naturally occur in rivers and lakes.

Renewal: For phosphate removal, renewal may or may not be possible, depending on conditions of use. At best, product may be renewed two times, depending on circumstances of use, and capacity will be much lower each time. To renew, spread 1/4" thick on a baking pan. Place in a 450 degree oven for one hour. Let cool. Rinse with fresh water and re-use. When reusing, leave for 8 hours, maximum. Do not use pan for food.

Precautions: WARNING: PRODUCT MAY GET VERY HOT THE FIRST TIME IT IS WET! Use rubber gloves and/or place in a plastic container while rinsing!
