They are not recommended, however, in systems without forced water circulation where there may be a shortage of dissolved oxygen in the water.

MULTIPLE ACTION ALGAE CONTROL MAT  

CHEMICAL CONTROL : Algae Control Mat is impregnated with a powerful algicide which will slow release once the mat is wet. The chemical agents are effective against 80% of all known algae species. Algae Control Mat will help control all common algaes including Blanketweed and will help prevent green water.

MECHANICAL CONTROL : Place the Algae Control Mat in any chamber of an external biological filter. The operational properties and uniform structure of the mat ensures suspended algae spores are trapped. Green water is thus removed from the pond

ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL: Algae Control Mat contains 2 inorganic buffers which help reduce and control the pH in garden ponds. A lowering of the pH will noticably reduce the amount of green algae present. Environmental control is also achieved by removing algae causing nutrients from the water

BIOLOGICAL CONTROL :   Algae Control Mat will trap nutrients from pond water. Enzymes will aid the breakdown of these nutrients and thus reduce algae growth. Natural extracts also help in the biological breakdown of suspended algae species.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

1. Place mat in the filter box : (One mat per 6000 litres of water : approx 1320 galls)

2. Or place mat in pond and weight with rock or stone

3. Algae Control Mat will work if left floating on the pond surface

4. For smaller ponds cut mat accordingly

5. Replace mat after 3 months during the pond season

6. For heavy concentrations of algae, replace mat every month

7. For larger pools use multiple mats

8. For ultimate control in Koi ponds without plants use 1 mat per 2500 litres (550 galls)

9. Do not exceed stated number of Algae Control mats as this may damage pond plants
